"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." Famous words from Ralph Waldo Emerson. I've also been exhorted to make the most of today because you can't be assured of tomorrow, and to not leave for tomorrow what can be done today. All absolutely great stuff here, no contest, but I must confess that I have a strange notion of loving and hating sunsets. Love it because it hastens the end of what may have been an nerve-wrecking and exhausting day; hate it because it takes so long for the another dawn to appear.
I've always loved mornings, always been the proverbial morning-person (up until the last few years I have to admit-2 children who just don't get that their beds are actually theirs to sleep in). Mornings herald the beginning of another day, and speak to me of getting another chance to get it right, a new opportunity to right wrongs and start again. While every effort is made to not focus on the past or the future with a goal to live today to the full, my hope is in part built on the last line of the American Civil War novel Gone With The Wind, indicating that the night has not stolen all your chances of a victory because 'tomorrow is another day.'
